As a blogger, one of the first social networks that I tapped into was Twitter. Twitter gives you an opportunity to connect with other “mommy bloggers” and more! It also gives you the opportunity to monetize or earn money, through Sponsored Tweets I have to say that when it comes to monetizing my blog, Sponsored Tweets has earned me the most. My earnings to date are $17.99!! Yeah, I am totally suprised. Thank goodness I don’t blog and tweet for money, but it is nice to earn a some change.
I started blogging 8 months ago and since linking up to twitter. I would take the time to write my post, then go back to my page to click the twitter button to send it to my twitter page. I noticed that when I would tweet a post it would have the whole blog post link which took up a lot of space, with the limited twitter character space. All the other tweeters had a shortened url, but I did not know how that went about getting the shortened link. Well, of course I did some research on Twitter and found that they have websites where you can shorten your url. So, I started using tinyurl to shorten my tweets.
To take it a step further I discovered that through Google Feed Burner for those who use Blogger, you can have your posts sent directly to Twitter. That cuts out all the time taken to copy the link, shorten it, then post it. So how is it done??
How to Connect your Blogger Post to Twitter:
1. Go to your FeedBurner Account.
2. Select Publicize.
3. Then select Socialize and add your twitter account.
4. Lastly, activate Ping Shot under Publicize.
That is it!! Am I the only one who did not know about this feature for Blogger??! Hope this was helpful:)
