Recently, my husband was leaving to take the youth from church on a college tour. So, usually when he leaves he tells the kids he is going to be gone and then tells them where he is going. We also show the kids on the map, which is a great way for the kids to learn some geography. But anyway, this time my husband told them he was going to Pittsburgh during the college tour.
My 5 year old seems to be really up to date on his current events. He recently explained to the family with great detail what had happened in Japan when we found out his uncle had no clue. Well, he must have been watching the news again the morning my husband left because he said with worry and concern, “Daddy you can’t go to Pittsburgh, a big tree fell down”! We couldn’t help but crack up, because it was so innocent and sincere. Gotta love the sweet things they say!
