I always seem to be Running to the Race. I am always running out of the door in the morning and running to the various activities we have during the week. I am tired of running and the only time I want to run is during my Field Hockey games and when I am running for fun.
Well, yesterday I was running to my little sister’s (sophomore in college), cross country meet with my mother. We were laughing because 2 years before yesterday, we were running to her race that had already started and my mom had on these heels with boots, it was hilarious.LOL!
For the first time in her running career, which started in junior high, we actually missed the race. I actually was o.k. with that since we got a chance to spend time with her and watch her get an award. I can tell you all the reasons we were late, I should have left earlier (the race was 1 1/2 hours away), I should have taken the shorter route, (my navigation took me the long round about way through the mountains and over the hills), if there was no traffic at 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon…we would have made it. But, no excuses..It is what it is!
Umm..I think next time I need to leave earlier and print directions and not just go by the navigation system. I think I have learned my lesson..hmm?? We will see, she has another meet in 2 weeks! I do not want to be Running to the Race!!
