Sometime yesterday, I do not know what I was thinking about but the phrase, Live on the Offense came to mind. Maybe it was because I had watched the “Eagles” game, by the way, Go Eagles:) Or It could have been me thinking about how much I missed playing Field Hockey this season on the Adult League I had to leave when we moved last month.
Living on the Offense to me means making a move before a problem or situation arises. When playing sports the people on offense are always or should always be anticipating the opposing teams next move. That is when the magic happens and interceptions and turnovers happen. Even a defensive player needs to be on offense. A great defensive player does not sit back and wait for someone to come to their side of the field. They are constantly moving and also anticipating moves to make things happen.
When it comes to our health, in most cases we can take measures to prevent certain diseases. I know that for me I am totally aware of that because my mother and grandmother had breast cancer and I just found out my father has kidney disease. For these reason alone I need to be on top of my game and really pay attention to what I am eating and how much I excercise. I have to anticipate and take measures to decrease my risks. Even though I have been excercising so I could lose some weight, it means so much more for me.
We can also Live on the Offense with our daily day to day activities. I know that when I put out the clothes for me and the kids the night before our morning goes so much smoother. When I plan out our meals for the week, dinner time is so much smoother. Lastly, when I get up early I do not have to worry about running out the door in the morning and being late to school or work.
With this being said, I thought of the term yesterday, but I still have a long way to go to really put this into practice. I do know that Living on the Offense daily will help make life a bit smoother and help me to live longer.
