Well, today is the big check in for the #Fitness Challenge that I have started with 2 of my friends 4 weeks ago. We each started out with our own personal goals and agreed to check in every 2 weeks, see post here. My goal which I thought was realistic at the time has not been met…no it has not:( For those who have not read the original post, my goal was to lose 3 pounds every 2 weeks. I thought for sure that would be attainable, especially with me working out at least 5 times a week and cutting back on some of the things I love…SUGAR!
I have cut down on my sugar intake but have to admit I have snuck in some Large Sweet Tea’s from McDonald’s!! So, I wondered what is the problem?! I know what it is…It is INSANITY: 60-Day Total Body Conditioning Workout DVD Program! That is right, this awesome fitness program is the culprit. Today, I would have started my 3rd straight week in the program and no significant weight loss. The problem is that this program really works your muscles and with that comes weight gain. You have probably heard this before but “muscle weighs more than fat”! So, I may not be meeting my weight loss goal for this challenge but my body is more fit than it has been in a long time. I have actually started seeing the definition of my previous six-pack!! Proof that you can get your abs back after 2 c-sections!!
The first 2 weeks I was discouraged because of the weight gain, so much so that I stopped working out for 3-4 days. But the great thing about the challenge is that I have constant support from my friends and my husband who has started working out. With that, I could not stay down long and got back into working out and am so happy I did. I am ready to start my 3rd week of Insanity and continue my progress.
With all that being said here is my weight loss for the past 4 weeks:
Week 2: .5 lbs
Week 4: .5 lbs
Total loss: 1 lb.
